Social Responsibility

The communities we serve are the backbone of our business. Growing, vibrant communities create an environment where our business can prosper. As such, GameStop chooses to support organizations with goals that mesh with our desire to serve the communities in which we do business.

Our national non-profit partner, the Make-A-Wish Foundation ® and GameStop are working together to provide gaming shopping sprees to children across the country. Wish children, their families and their wish granters set up a time to visit their local GameStop, and they literally go on a shopping spree.

Make-A-Wish Foundation

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. It is the largest wish granting charity in the world, with 69 chapters in the United States and its territories. The Make-A-Wish Foundation was founded in 1980 after a little boy named Chris Greicius realized his heartfelt wish to become a police officer. Since its humble beginnings, the organization has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon, reaching more than 161,000 children around the world.

Although it has become one of the world's most well-known charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission. A network of more than 25,000 volunteers enable the Make-A-Wish Foundation to serve children with life-threatening medical conditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, special events assistants and in numerous other capacities.

GameStop is proud to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation by helping gaming and shopping spree wishes come true for children across the country.
